So, I should have done my research on this vehicle. the Torque Converter and valve body needs replacing also just had brake pump fixed, new brakes and was told I need new struts. after spending 2500. on brakes, break pump oil change and new tires I kept getting the same engine symptoms.
so, the first time-I took it to the shop told them the check engine light was on and they said transmission fluid needed adjusting and new brakes, rotors and brake pump. ( I never had a problem stopping nor did I hear the grinding or squeaking on the front breaks but took their word for it. after about a week the symptoms of the gears slipping and the front end shaking at about 40-45mph and check engine light went on again. I take it back to the shop and they told me that the torch converter and valve body needs to be replaced and the purge valve. It was recommended that I purchase a new transmission rather than just fix the problem because I would only have more trouble months daown the road. I called a local transmission shop and was told that GMC put to small of a transmission in the 2008 model. WTF!!!
this car is a piece of crap. I will NEVER EVER buy another GMC vehicle EVER! I bought it used so can't even trade it in because I would go into a new loan 6-7 grand in the hole.
I will tell everyone I know the GMC's are crap and money pits. GMC won't acknowledge the problem or recall the cheap transmissions they put in these cars. BUYER BEWARE!!!
If you are thinking of buying a can new or used do your research!! if I had I NEVER would have bought this car.
