Acadia SLE 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

Purchased the car January 2017 with 68,000 miles. The previous owners had the a/c condenser replaced the previous summer at around 58,000 miles because the a/c went out. A month after I bought the car the a/c went out. The dealer I purchased it from said there was a hole in the condenser so they replaced it under the extended warranty I purchased. The a/c worked again for about a day then stopped working again. There was clearly a freon leak that was depressurizing the system prevent the a/c from functioning. I took it to my personal mechanic and he performed a tracer leak test and found the issue was not the condenser, but a $95 a/c hose. He replaced that and the a/c works fine. Cost for diagnostics, tracer testing, parts and labor added up to be $375.

If your a/c light blinks 3 times and does not work, make sure you check the simple stuff first before having your mechanic look at it. Check your owners manual. Many times the a/c will not function under a certain ambient air temperature eg 45 degF.

It just seems to be an never ending battle with this this 2010 Acadia. I cannot believe a 5 year old vehicle would have the AC gone already.

Acadia SEL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,000 miles

Car a/c does not work. Bought from dealership and got extended warranty but they are 4 hours away. (So much for driving and saving a little!!!) Have read NUMEROUS nightmare stories concerning A/C on the Acadias now. Can't believe only one other person here is griping besides me on the 2010 model??????? Recharged system, it was o.k. for a day then began to blow mist out of the vents and is hot again. I have read over and over again of earlier models having tons of problems and COST$ and ending up with same eventuality: Remove dash and have components behind it replaced (evaporator?).

WHY HASN'T GM RECALLED THIS????????????????????? There are untold amounts of people who are PISSED to the point of NEVER OWNING ANOTHER GM PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! You folks from GMC are alienating people who have been customers for years and are losing business as a result. When stock holders meet and wonder why the hell stock is tanking, well, lets just say you can point to situations like this as the reason. Now if someone from GM would like to get in touch with me and resolve this, I would be a happy camper as my wife. But, if it turns out the way most have experience, I don't put much faith in the telephone or email ever ringing.

Acadia

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

Typical GM vehicle. AC is the worst breaks down constantly. Warranty is horrible not covered. Dealer is awful liars. Anyone reading this the vehicle might seem cheap in initial price but you will pay big time in future for incredible repairs. Whatever you do don't buy any GM piece of crap especially an Acadia etc. Junk.
