2nd time coming in to get this fixed a week after it was supposedly done before. Again I took this vehicle to Southgate GM in Calgary. After keeping it for the day I was informed late the same afternoon that the oil was likely "residual" from the original leak that was fixed. Since the oil was coming from the transfer case and running down the torque tube it would take a bit for the oil to stop because they can't clean the inside of the torque tube. Too many gears and bearings...to be continued...

The leak originated at the transfer case and leaked all the way down the inside of the torque tube and started dripping right below the second row of the vehicle. Took it in to the Southgate GM dealership in Calgary. They replaced the seal and sent me on my way two days later because the part had to be shipped from the U.S. I was made to feel that they were conveniencing me to ship it priority overnight because it usually takes several weeks...to be continued...

4th time the vehicle is going in to get this oil leak solved. Southgate GM in Calgary had the vehicle for 2.5 weeks and replaced the seal 3 times before, they claim, there was no more oil. They filled the transfer case reservoir with the orange dyed oil again and informed me that if I saw the oil to bring it back. I picked up the vehicle at 18:10 on July 8, 2010 and after dropping off the rental vehicle and got to my house at 18:30 I pulled into my driveway, looked under my vehicle, and guess what? MORE &%$#*^$^& ORANGE OIL!!!!! How could they have missed this?!?!?!?!? According to them their shop foreman was taking the car to and from his house in Okotoks (20 min. south of Calgary) after each seal was replaced. They put 160 km on my vehicle and burnt half a tank of my fuel. Do you think they put the gas back in that they burnt? NOPE! I think warranty should cover that as well. Plus the 160km should be added to my warranty km. I have no clue how they missed this problem. Also, it just so happens that the service consultant that was looking after this case went on vacation today. It just so happens that my vehicle was repaired on his last day before vacation. I'm not overly impressed.
I am seriously considering trading this vehicle in for a new one and demanding that GM swap it out for me. Is this going to happen? Not a hope. Am I ever going to buy another GM again. Definitely not. We were initially not even considering buying a domestic vehicle after we traded in our 2006 Saturn Vue (another piece of garbage GM product). The Acadia size was perfect for our family but everything else about it is a piece of junk.
DO NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE! IT WILL CAUSE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY NOTHING BUT GRIEF.

3rd time back to Southgate GM in Calgary to get this problem solved. The last time I was in they dyed the transfer case oil orange just to be sure that I could see the difference between the residual oil and the new oil. Sure enough, about a week after I was informed that it was residual oil the dyed oil made an appearance on my brand new drive way. How impressed was I? NOT VERY!!! Back to the dealership and I informed them that I needed a rental because I wasn't taking mine back until the problem was solved. Apparently, these seals that they were replacing are quite difficult to find and they didn't have any left in the warehouse in the U.S. Maybe because this is a major problem across the entire line of Acadia's? I was informed otherwise but that isn't surprising coming from a GM service consultant. So they found some seals in eastern Canada. The put the first one in; road tested it; it leaked. Put the second one in; road tested it; it leaked. Put the third one in; road tested it; it leaked. I was then informed that if the third seal leaked that they would be replacing the entire assembly costing them ~$3700. The third seal held...for them...to be continued...
