Well, my truck broke down on me while I was driving. I'm driving down a busy street and it just cut completely off on me in the middle of the street and everything went off - the lights, everything. The truck did not come back on - it was by the grace of God that I saw a tow truck coming down the street and the man towed my car for me.

My car has been sitting for 3 days in front of my house, unable to move anything. I just bought the truck in February of 2020 and it was for me and my kids - to take them back and forth to the doctor's office, school appointments and so on. I think the place where I bought the truck from are playing games with me because they know I'm a woman and I just need some help.

Every time I call the place where I got the truck from to let them know that this engine has shut down - and they've been giving me the runarounds. I told them from the start that I think something was wrong with something under the hood and they kept telling me it could have been the wheels. I went and got the tires checked out - it has nothing to do with the tires and they just basically been giving me the runarounds. Every time I call to speak to the person in charge he's never in the office and they keep putting me on hold. I'm just really fed up with it.

I was on my way to the gym on 4/303/2017 around 3:30pm. I was driving from Miramar Florida on SR7 to Sheridan, but as I approached Pembroke Pines my vehicle started slowing down. I took a glance at the engine light, and it read traction control. The vehicle stopped completely on the side of the road, and the engine shut down on me. I called AAA to get my vehicle towed to my residence. The most frustrating part was that my clients was waiting on me. I have never purchase an American made vehicle, but this year I decided to take a chance on a homemade vehicle; disaster reigned. Mind you what brand best described the all American homegrown vehicle company “GENERAL MOTOR COMPANY". Honestly I am very disappointed that the rumors are true about mistreating American’s consumers. I have been to Europe, and I noticed the American vehicles in Europe are more superior than the one built for our US consumers.

The original problem began back at the end of December when a throttle sensor code was coming up after our car lost power. Then on the second trip to the shop we began to see the car lose power and stating that the traction control was off, that stability control was off, and then the engine power was being reduced. Car would still run, but after being taken in again it was review sensor replaced and car ran fine for about two weeks. While in Cincinnati my car began severally hesitating and reducing power. None of the codes were coming up like before, car would increase in RPMs and then shift hard and suddenly increase in power as if it was clearing a clog. Within 5 miles car lost all power and coasted to side of road. Car was towed in and these codes were seen. Throwing code P0300, 0302, 0303, 0404 misfires in cylinder 1,3,5 also throwing mass air flow sensor code. At the Chevy dealership it was determined that all (3) catalytic converters needed to be replaced. This occurred and after the car was driven back home it was clear something was still wrong. Drove car back very next day to be looked at to find out that the car had loss engine pressure. We were advised that a new engine was now required.

GM WOULD NOT stand behind their product and because of the mileage we had we were left holding the bag. We had already covered over $2K for the converters and other service, we traded in the GMC to the dealer it was purchase from two weeks ago and bought another vehicle. Can't believe a vehicle of this original price point and with what I'm seeing from other almost exact complaints that GM is not doing something about it. Very sad.

Dealer said catalytic converter was bad, should be fixed by the next day, covered under warranty. This did not fix the problem, dealer now said they have to open up the engine to diagnose, would cost around $1000 just to diagnose. After agreeing to this, the dealer said the engine needed replacing due to 3rd party oil filter, it would cost an additional $7,700!. GMC says they are standing behind what the dealer has said and cannot help. This vehicle has a 100,000 mile power train warranty, the engine fails after 60k and their defense is I didn't have the maintenance performed at a dealer. If the oil filter was such a poor brand, why did it take opening up the engine to see this?

September 27, 2014 we are trying to get our son to his football game and the exact same thing happens driving down Mt. Rushmore Rd in town. Luckily we were able to make it to our house and call GMC. Everyone was leaving for the day so we dropped it off this morning which is Monday, September 29th. We are still waiting to hear from them but I have a feeling I know what they are going to say.

I am telling you, there is something wrong with my car. It is not safe to drive on the roads. I can’t drive a car that stalls out in the middle of the road! I have three kids and I feel like absolute sh*t every time I have to put them in that car because I know that I am putting their lives at risk, but what the hell am I supposed to do?!?!? We have been lucky so far that no one has been hurt when this has happened, but sooner or later our luck will run out. I can’t live with that! Make this Right!! I am begging you, someone, GM to make this right!!!

August 16th we are driving back from a family trip to an amusement park. My fiancé is driving, I’m in the passenger, two of my children and two of my adult sisters are in the car with us. It’s late at night, midnight about, and we had been driving for about 4 hours, we were a mile from my mom’s house and all of a sudden, going down a highway at 65 all of those same lights come on and my fiancé announces, “OMG Samantha, I think it’s happening again. “ Sure enough he is unable to accelerate and the vehicle stalls out in the middle of the road. Luckily for us this time we are on flat terrain and we are able to coast into my mother’s driveway. Because it is so late we decided to just go to bed and deal with it in the morning. In the morning, though, we get into the car and it drives perfectly fine. We drive 6 hours back to Rapid City, with no issues, although we are sick to our stomachs. We call our local GMC again but this time they can’t get us in for three days, by that time all of the lights have reset themselves and they tell us nothing is wrong and they send us on our way.

June 11th 2014, just a short four months later. It was a Wednesday; I had just gotten off of work and picked up my three kids from their Grandpa’s house. My youngest daughter’s 1st birthday party was that weekend and we were going to run to the store for some last minute decorations. I was driving down LaCrosse Street which, I would say, is one of the busiest streets in the town that I live. Everything was fine. I drove over a set of railroad tracks and all of a sudden my car starts beeping and flashing all of these lights at me. The “Park Assist Off” , the “Traction Control Off”, the “Service Stabilitrak” and the “Check Engine” lights all come on. We are in town and not going very fast so I don’t notice the car driving any differently at first. I don’t want the kids to panic so I continue on our route to the store and I figure once I get there, get the car out of traffic, and parked, I will call for help. After all, the store is just a couple blocks up the road. Then I come to a red light. I stop and still everything seems fine, except for all these lights flashing at me. When I try to go again is when I realized that there is a problem. My car will not accelerate. I have the gas pushed all the way to the ground and my car is moving at like snail speed, I’m trying to make a left hand turn, up a hill, to get to the parking lot but my car literally will not move! Vehicles are swerving to avoid crashing into us, people all around are honking and yelling at me and my kids are starting to cry. I turn my hazards on and continue to try to accelerate up the hill, but it’s just not working. I call a tow truck and my finance. I am in a complete panic. After a while a passing police car stops to see what the problem is. I try to explain to him what happened. Shortly after my fiancé comes and the two of them work to block traffic at the intersection to back my car down the hill, push it across 5 lines of traffic and into a parking lot across the street. Here, we sit and wait for the tow truck.

We have to vehicle towed to Granite GMC. No one is in the service department anymore that night because of how late is it. We leave it there over night and hope to hear something the next day. When we do hear back from the GMC dealership they basically tell us that we’re idiots. They test drove the car and looked it over and hooked it up to their fancy machines and there’s nothing wrong with it. WTF!!! Are you kidding me!! I’m telling you there’s something wrong. My fiancé had some words when we went to pick up the car and the only solution GMC gave us was to just buy a new one….. excuse me…. No…. I just bought a new one…. Plus we’re freaking broke!! I can’t just buy a new one!!! So we left feeling utterly defeated and afraid for our lives.
