This morning I drove my son to daycare, everything was normal. After dropping him off at daycare, I headed off to work. I usually take Pendleton Pike, which is a heavily trafficked area. After passing Sunnyside Road, I noticed that as soon as I hit the accelerator, the car made a lot of noise, as if it were parked and I was accelerating, but it was not going faster. It actually slowed down significantly, going from 40 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour within about three to five seconds. I felt that if I did not pull over quickly, I might get hit or worse. I panicked and didn't know what to do! Luckily, traffic was fairly light, so I was able to pull in to a Starbucks parking lot (ever so slowly) and let it sit there for a few seconds. I shut the car off for ten seconds, then started it again, and proceeded to drive to work. What if that would have happened on the interstate? What if my son (who is only three days shy of turning one year old) would have been in the car with me and another hit me from behind? If I take it to the dealership, they will probably tell me nothing is wrong. This is a HAZARD. I hope you are reading this, GM. This is a serious safety concern.
