Bought this car used on June 21st from Richard Karr in Waco Texas. We went on vacation on the 26th and going thru New Mexico the gas dinger goes off. It said we still had 56 miles left, so we thought we had enough gas to get to the station but in less then 2 miles after that, the car runs out of gas. Thank goodness for Onstar they brought us gas and we filled up and got to Hoover Dam in Nevada and again the bell goes off and again we start to run out of gas. Luckily a gas station was just a block away. So we keep the gas tank filled til we get back home.
We called the dealership when this happened and they said we just going to have to bring it in. So when we got back we took it in and they did not want to hook it up to the diagnostic machine said that we just need to start resetting the miles and gave us this long story about riding up in the mountains and the gas was going up and down. So then two days ago at 135 miles left on my car I was at my bank and then went up to my other bank which is just down the street and said I only had 109 left and started acting like my car wanted to run out of gas. So I parked at my bank and called the dealership and as I was sitting there the mileage started jumping around saying I had 97 miles, then back and forth to 120 miles. So they said to bring it back and as I was trying to explain they had the worse attitude about it and so I was easily upset and got mad.
My husband took it back yesterday now they want us to bring it back to do the diagnostic test on it but I took it to a friends shop and he said there is a recall on this problem so I feel like I should not be responsible for this problem to get fixed. If anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know.
