The front driver seat has a broken seat along the plastic bottom part of the seat and the passenger seat is cracked just like many other complaints about this seat. Inside the plastic bottom are the electrical parts to adjust the seat.

Seat trim came loose again. Went back to dealer01/06/16. Mileage:61617. Dealer snapped back in place. No charge this time. Back to dealer 01/29/16- dealer worked on seat trim again. Dealer said they installed plastic clip to hold reinforce connection. No charge. This was when they used some kind of adhesive to attach the trim. Mechanic said it would work but it didn't last. Back to dealer for service 10/20/16. Addressed seat problem again. Was informed that the trim would have to be replaced again. Estimate cost: $270.00. This was when I decided that I was going to contact GM concerning the many issues I have had with this 2012 Acadia Denali that I purchased new in 2012. They seemed to be really concerned with my issues. But after discussing all the problems past and present with this car along with another issue that service dept informed me that was looming in my near future that was going to be a costly fix. I told GM that I was actually considering buying my first foreign made car. I told them that I had bought every car I have owned from GM except my first car that was a Ford. This was my worst experience with their product. I have no complaints with my dealer-the problem is GM. Their quality control has gone off the rails. They have made the most beautiful cars in the marketplace historically. The problem is they are not making them with the quality in mind that buyers demand. It is very expensive to purchase these cars and we the buyers want a car they can depend on without having to repair stuff that the company should have made to last such as the trim on my seat. The solution from the GM Service Specialist at GM SAID THAT IT WAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER TO MAINTAIN THEIR CARS. I do agree with that premise except when it comes to a part of the car that was poorly designed and with inferior parts that will not last. Specialist informed me that they had spoken to my dealer and that they would cut the $270.00 replacement cost to $200.00. I am to contact dealer which I will do today. Not happy at all, This car cost almost $50,000.

Base of seat where the seat controls broke from the metal base of drivers seat. Dealership wanted $350.00 to replace. I ordered the part (off ebay) and replaced myself. This was OEM part. Now 3 months later it has broken again, but in a different area. Have spoken with 2 other Acadia owners with same issue. Complained to dealership about the poor design and expense, their response was "wait until you have to change a headlight!" Had to check you tube out on that! Thinking I will NEVER buy another GMC product. Poor design in the seat, and will probably trade vehicle soon.

The front driver seat has a broken seat along the plastic bottom part of the seat and the passenger seat is beginning to crack inside under the seat. Inside the plastic bottom are the electrical parts to adjust the seat. The plastic continues to crack more. I've never had this happen in any other vehicles.

I drove my last SUV, a Suburban, for 7 years and had nothing happen like this. Also, our Ford pickups have not had issues with this type of problem. Before this we had a Quest mini van and 2 Ford Aerostars with no problems like this. I'm a little larger than average, but not huge by any means - and never had this issue with any other vehicle anyway. I bought this used about 6 months ago. I did a search to see if others had this kind of problems with their Acadia. I did find someone else this had happened to.
