Purchased the vehicle from the GM authorized dealer in saudi arabia. No one is able to give a certification as to whether the vehicle meets/does not meet the us dot FMVSS and epa standards

Lift gate would not open, tried to open my driver door to open it from there and it still would not work. Tried to crank car and it made a lot of clicking noises and looked as if the battery was dead but then all of my doors started making clicking noises. Won't start. Won't release key.

Engine surges when on highway causing RPM gauge to fluctuate or bounce to 2 to 400 rpms. Vehicle shaking when driving up an incline or anytime anytime putting engine under a load specially before a transmission shift. Took to GMC dealership twice and they said they couldn't locate the issue. The issue still persists.

Vehicle shudders and engine surges if engine rpms drop under 22oo. Car does not drive smoothly. Has tripped into "limp home mode" while driving on 4 lane highway at 60mph. Vehicle had to be towed. Dealer "said there was not error code to repair", have taken it in on 4 different occasions with a repair to fuel relay repair, motor mount, and twice with no repair before warranty was up, now outside of warranty in mileage. This vehicle is not safe. Problem has been going on since August 2017.

Almost crashed into a tree with my 5 year old in the car after going through a puddle on a rainy day. There was a very loud squealing noise and then the steering wheel froze. I needed to shut the car off and turn it back on to unfreeze it. It happened a second time after going through another puddle which thankfully was in my driveway! brought it to get my belt checked and the GMC dealer said they think I have a small steering fluid leak and would need a new rack and pinion" I had a private mechanics second opinion and they said they did not see a leak and the fluid was not low? however my transmission fluid was a bit low? my car does stutter from time to time but no lights have come on to tell me there is a problem" not sure what to do I cant afford the $1400 to supposedly fix the car. We just purchased it a year ago and it only has 70,000 miles on it! I have done research and others have the same issue! GM needs to recall this safety issue before someone gets hurt or worse!! they also need to figure out why so many have stuttering transmissions! I almost got into a collision because my car stuttered as I was turning! the other person had to slam on the brakes as I tried to hit the gas harder! I had a 3 kids in the car on the way to baseball!! figure this out GM please before someone get hurt in this so called family car!!!!

Back in January 2017 I took my car in to have the power liftgate recall work done at my dealer. On 3/1/17 in the evening, while loading groceries in the back of my car the power liftgate fell full-force right onto my head and pushed down onto my neck (and it is a very heavy liftgate!). thankfully I did not pass out. I immediately called my service guy to let him know what had happened. I also brought the car in to the dealer the very next day. After not feeling well the night before, I went urgent care, who in turn sent me to the er for a ct scan of my head. I suffered a concussion. I do not believe that the problem with the liftgate has been solved and think it is a very dangerous situation since there was no indication or signs of a failure. I contacted GM who has opened a case and said they will be contacting me. Quite frankly I want to get rid of the car because of this situation. I think all Acadia owners should be aware of how serious in fact this issues is. I was totally unaware until I read articles and other materials on the web. I am in the process of gathering all of my paperwork to be scanned and will be filing a lawsuit if GM cannot resolve the issue with me. I will be happy to forward to you any documentation you desire. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The hydraulic rod that holds the engine hood open failed at 35,000 miles.

My wife's 2012 GMC Acadia has been diagnosed with a cracked evaporator core in the air conditioning which the dealership says I will have no working air conditioning soon. The $2100 repair bill disappoints me on a 4 year old vehicle with 96,825 km but I chalk it up as something that can happen I guess. However, what is worthy of a complaint to recall is that the GMC dealership told me my Acadia was the 8th Acadia in the last 3 months with the same problem. Adding more fuel to the fire, I live in a town of 6,700 people with the 1 GMC dealership; that seems like a pretty poor track record for quality control in a small town and for GMC as a whole. Of course when I called GMC customer service, there was no recalls presently on the issue I have and that they would note it. Personally they must have access to how many Acadia's have had the same problem and should from a customer service standpoint, at least investigate that if it is a common problem, recall the vehicles now and not when warranties are expired. Hoping this provokes action!

Sunroof leak driving during rainstorm water began pouring in on the driver side from the parking brake. Caused moldy smell, park brake on/off indicator light and brake on warning alarm now not working. Advised by glass co. And dealership that sunroof is causing leak from clogged drain lines and faulty seals. No recalls or tsb's but hundreds of other owners have had the same issue from 2008-2013 models. Ntsb should demand that GMC address this faulty product. Problem re-occurred during car wash following rain storm. Vehicle has only 30,000 miles, original owner, now out of warranty. GMC will not cover repairs.

Took our Acadia to the dealership where it was purchased, for liftgate recall, worked fine before the work was done, now it pops and jerks at the the top of the lift. Dealership told us it was normal...I don't feel like it is.

After my liftgate opened, it shuddered and came crashing 3/4's of the way down. Had I been in the way, I would have been hit and undoubtedly injured. Very dangerous situation which has caused me to be unable to use my vehicle for which it is intended - I cannot access the cargo area for loading and unloading heavy and large items.! I purchased this vehicle explicitly for it's large cargo area and easy accessibility. I now have a very difficult time loading and unloading heavy and bulky items from the backseat of my car.

I pressed the power lift gate button it opened & I was placing a bag in back of car when the lift gate went down without warning & hit me in the head. Causing a head injury that required medical attention 2 head lacerations that required 7 staples

Automatic tailgate was activated and it preceeded to the top and stopped. I leaned into the back to get something out and the tailgate came crashing down with no warning, hitting my back and did not rebound. If my child had been standing there next to me he could have been killed. The force from the supports giving out dropped the door with full force. I am just thankful it didn't hit my neck or head. There should be a secondary catch for the door to prevent this from happening. Someone could easily be killed.
