Acadia SLE2 3.6L

I've had this car for 8-years and it's been great except for this very intermittent problem with "check engine/service stabilitrack/reduced engine power" message.

It first happened while under warranty, but the problem cleared by itself and GM service could not find anything or help at that time (of course).

The second time it occurred was a few years later, and again the issue went away after stopping and restarting the engine. The most recent times it occurred was during a 700-mile trip where it acted up three separate times. I had to pull off the highway to shut off and restart the engine each time to clear the problem and get it to run normally again.

When I got home, I took it to GM service and they found code P1682 and applied the TSB repairs to the fuse box under the hood costing me $400. I hope it's fixed, but this sounds like a common problem that GM needs to address!

Update from Apr 18, 2023: update - repairing the fuse box connection did not work as the intermittent issue cropped up 3-weeks after repair. Returned again for complete fuse box replacement. This time for $600 in additional charges. We'll see if this helps.

I do believe this is a known issue to GM. There was a lawsuit on this exact issue recently dismissed and I believe it was legit and should be resubmitted.

2014 Acadia had the “Service Air Bag” light on. This car has never been in a crash. The dealership was snotty and said it would be at least $150 for them to find out the actual problem. It looks like GMC has recalled 2007 and 2008 years of vehicles with the problem. Wonder when they will figure out it is probably all the Acadia’s.

Acadia Denali 3.2L V6

My daughter was headed back home and noticed the light that shows on the driver window was flashing. She stopped to put gas in the vehicle. After putting in the gas, she went to start the car and it wouldn't do anything. Unable to get a jump, I called GMC roadside assistance to come give a jumpstart and if it would not take one then it was to be towed to the GMC dealer indicated. However, I receive a direct call from the tow company and was informed that they also do repair work for GMC and would be willing to take my car to his shop instead which would cost less money and take less time. So I agreed only to find out my that they did not first try to give it a jump.

After hours of diagnostic testing on my vehicle, I was told that there were 8 different codes that showed up but yet the problem was not pin pointed yet. I told the guy that just because I'm a woman does not mean I don't know about vehicles so please don't try to play games with me about my car. He further went to tell me that it needed a battery; so of course by all means let's get a new battery. When he told me $375 to replace the battery, I hit the roof. Surprised by my reaction, I informed him that I would not pay that much money for a battery and you still have not identified the issue.

After continuing on which went into the next day, I receive a call letting me know that the problem was found to be the alternator which was still covered under warranty. So I went ahead and okayed the car to be repaired. Me and my boyfriend drove 2 1/2 hours to pick up my vehicle when it finally was done. After returning home, the next day I had to attend my aunt's funeral. After the funeral was over and we returned to the car, the key fob would not work to unlock the doors, manually unlocking the door we found that the inside locks still would not work manually, the stereo system was blacked out and when it came on things on it was no longer showing like xmradio, cd, Bluetooth, etc.. Car started up fine, but all those other issues continues to occur.

This is the reason why I don't trust mechanics because most of them try to get over on those they think they can.
