While on vacation with my family, we traveled through Texas and stopped at the Zoo. We came out to find that my Acadia would not start. Battery was checked and was fine. Car was towed to Chevy dealer in Dallas and I was advised that the starter went out in it. I was fine with that. Just wanted it fixed so I could return home to Florida.
While fixing the starter they discovered the engine seized and the whole engine would need to be replaced. I was just over 100K miles at that time and 1000 miles away from home. They had to replace my engine, fuel injection and full AC system which cost me just over $9600. Then I had to fly back to Dallas to pick me my vehicle up which cost addt'l money and time off from work.
This vehicle isn't even paid off and now it is hard shifting like other complaints I have seen and was just told, "Well things do break and you are over 100K miles on the car" by the service manager here in Florida and that I would need a new transmission. There shouldn't be this many problems with one vehicle in a 2 month time. This really turns me off from ever buying a GM product again!! After the transmission replacement, I will be over $15K in auto repairs on this one vehicle that is only 4 years old.
