This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your GMC dealer.
Tried to start car, no response from starter, lots of messages scrolled on information display about ABS, Reduced power, Steering, Parking brake, etc, etc. I Put Key in Console's "Emergency Location" and made no difference. Radio, lights, OnStar, climate blower did work. Tried to start for many minutes with no success, so called On Star and arranged for a tow to dealer.
While waiting for tow we tried to open rear tailgate to unload car and found it to be inoperative.
After waiting an hour for tow, went and tried to start car, and it started with "check engine" light displaying. Took to dealer and he found no definitive cause for problem except a "communication" issue in the computer system.
Vehicle is a dealer now for further investigation.

Took a short four day vacation in the Smokey Mountains, on the day we were coming home the darn car would not start again. Dead!
Called Roadside assistance, Thank goodness the provider was quick, but we knew we had a seven hour drive, The electrical system was goofy, screens flashing, making funny sounds But we made it home.. Took it to the dealership, their response was we needed an appointment.
I drove the car yesterday no issues. When to leave this morning, going to physical therapy an guess what the darn car would not start! Called Roadside Assistance but had to wait three hour for a tow truck.
They had to try three times in order to jump it So now its on its way to the dealer.

Stopped for gas, after filling up, the car wouldn't start, all dash icons extinguished, starter didn't make a sound. Called on-star and waited for tow truck, after 30 minutes tow truck hadn't arrived so I tried starting it again, and it started. Third time in less than a month. Took the car to the dealer the next day, check engine light was on.

stopped for gas with a car full of food- got back in the car, pushed the start button and nothing.... I mean nothing- on the screen it said make sure the key is in the remote- why would u take it out??.. tried for 10+mins and nothing so called onstar- the nice lady said put the remote in the cup holder... nothing... then she said turn the remote over in the cup holder... nothing... finally she was arranging a tow after about 15mins, when I heard the door click- hit the start button and car started- lady said maybe it was a reboot... maybe a reboot- what happens if u are in a desolate place ,late at nite.... not happy at all...

Car ran perfectly fine. No issues. Then I went out one morning, and it was completely dead. Had purchased the extended warranty through the dealer. That covered the tow bill. The alternator was completely dead. It also damaged a cell in the battery. I had to pay a 200$ deductible and because a battery isn’t a warrantable item, I had to pay the battery replacement for 400$ out of pocket.
Extremely annoying seeing as how the alternator and battery were barely 4 years old. While they had it at the shop they also found the coolant was leaking and had to do another repair as well replacing a coolant line (also under warranty). Overall, I love my Acadia. This issue however was extremely frustrating.
