Last week I parked in a large public parking lot and attempted to turn my car off. I received a notification in my dash to -??shift to park-?? even though my car was already in park. I was unable to turn the car off or lock the doors. I ended up having to leave. I have now gotten this message six times in the past week. It can take up to twenty minutes to get the car to turn off so I can exit. Yesterday upon returning to the car I showed an error message as soon as I started it that the parking brake needed service, stabilitrak is disabled and steering assist is disabled- drive with care. As I tried to exit the parking lot, I found it almost impossible to turn the steering week. I pulled over and restarted the car, releasing the steering wheel so I could get home. This morning, all of the service lights were on and periodic warnings flashed on my dash throughout my drive to work. I contacted the dealership and was told that there is a recall for this exact issue on the 2015-2018 models of my car. I have a 2019. This is certainly a dangerous issue that should be proactively fixed and is clearly still present in years that are not being included in the recall. I was told my car was one month past its warranty and told I could pay 250$ for the issue to be assessed and then they could quote me on a fix. The dealership acknowledged that this is an issue they regularly fix.

I have the shift to park error where my car is not recognizing that it is in park and will not shut off. I have been held hostage inside my car, late for work, etc because my car will not shut off because it is not registering that it-??s in park. Also, my breaks are unbareably loud with whatever switch they made to the -??new-?? brake material.

My car would not shift into park. The indicator in the center console would say that it was in park, but when I would shut it car off I would get a warning on the dash that said that I needed to sh*t to park. I started chocking the tires when I parked out of fear of the car rolling away or run over somebody. My wife would not always chock the tires. I took the car to the dealer today and they confirmed my issue. The dealer replaced a part on the transmission. The dealer has my old part. It cost me over $400 to repair. The dealer and manufacturer are aware of similar circumstances with this model. I started having issues two months ago without warning and the problem got steadily got worse. The car has 43300 miles on it. I have owned it since new. It has never been in any accidents.

First it said parking wasn't working correctly. Then I checked to make sure the park brake was off, then when I shut the engine off it said it was not in park and the dash lights stayed on..

After jump starting car because of dead battery decided to drive to dealer 1-2 miles awa.Y. my wife followed me in car. While driving during the 1-2 mile trip the stearing would lock up (quit working) and the breaks as well.this lasted several seconds and resulted in total lack of control at 35-45 mph on a city street. The alternator was working providing electricity to the cars systems. As batteries frequently fail I believe this is a clear and present danger to the occupant and other vehicals on the road.this occurred on Sunday October 17, 2020

Getting a "shift to park" message when the car is in park. It won't let you do anything lock the car, bells going off, nothing and sometimes it takes 20 minutes or longer to keep trying to get the car into park.it would do it everytime I go to drive it.

My 2019 GMC Acadia has abruptly automatically braked while driving between 10- 15 mph and without any cars near the vehicle. It slams on the brake like it's the parking brake and makes a grinding noise.. this has occurred on 2 different occasions. After the 1st time the service parking brake light came on. The dealership said it was related to a faulty battery because I received an onstar notice about my battery.. it occurred again after having the battery replaced.
