The key fobs on all Canyon's, Colorado's and Isuzu I-370's are seemingly purposely designed to break at the key ring hole. There appears to be planned obsolescence in order to charge for an expensive replacement and reprogramming of a replacement key fob. The current charge for just programming the key fob (which MUST be done at a dealership or locksmith runs about $50-$100. Even if you buy a relatively cheap replacement off E-Bay at about $10, you must still pay for reprogramming of the new key fob.
This, and the problems I've had with the theft deterrent system disabling me from starting my truck without a 10-15 minute wait, makes me mad enough to refuse to ever buy another new GM or Chevrolet vehicle.
