Canyon 4-cyl Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100 miles
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Canyon. The parking brake cables, which is attached by metal fasteners beneath the spring, hangs down two to three inches instead of being on top of or on the side of the spring. This is a design flaw. GM informed the contact that there was no one he could speak with concerning this failure. Instead, he was advised to write to a P.O. Box. The current mileage was 2,910 and failure mileage was 100. Updated 03-05-08 the consumer stated the brake cables were fastened to end under the frame of the vehicle, forming a loop below the vehicle which can catch debris and rip out the brake cables.
