Canyon SLE 3.6L V6

Standard Dura-life brake calipers are not as great as GMC makes them to be. The only fix to your squealing brakes would be to get a better aftermarket brand. I found my new brake calipers on CarID.com for about $50 each

Canyon All Terrain 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission

Brakes squeal everyday, especially first thing in the morning. Everyone says that that is the way new brakes are initially. Dealer says its just dirt/rocks and ask if live on dirt road knowing the address of the customer is not a dirt road. Dealer also states that some noise is expected in wet weather, roads are not wet. Vehicle brakes squealed the first day and still squeals 6 months later.

Update from Nov 11, 2015: After the Recall of Replacing the Front Calipers, the squealing is still heard and getting worse. I had the dealer inspect but they keep asking you must live on a sandy road. MY ADDRESS IS ONLY 2 MILES AT MOST FROM THE DEALER AND WITHIN CITY LIMITS. Brakes have been squealing since the vehicle has been driven off the lot for a road test with only 4 miles. They say, oh they are new, just need to wear in some. 0ver 11,000 miles later they still squeal so are they still new? No. Oh you must live on a dirt road. Oh My goodness. Just inspect the brakes, take it for a road test, request to keep it overnight and provide a loaner. Where and Why do the brakes squeal?

Update from Jul 21, 2017: Brakes still squeel, so dealer finds rock in the front caliper, which was replaced by a recall and now has customer pay for new stuff.
