Engine has randomly shut off. Several times when accelerating after I slowed down or stopped, once while driving on toll way, but most often when accelerating. Engine restarts after tossing transmission into Neutral or Park.

Upon initial movement of vehicle, engine stalls and cuts out like it is starving for fuel. No service engine light comes on, fuel recommended by manufacturer is 87 Octane, and that is what is being used. Vehicle is from the midwest and operates in the mountain zone ( Missouri to Colorado). Dealer says to use 85 Octane. A diagnostic check was done with a scan tool, no problem found. Gas Cap is securely on and only says to turn one click and its tight, which is done and will not turn to click no more.
Update from Nov 11, 2015: Spits and Sputters, No Check Engine Light. Getting bad fuel mileage.
Update from Jul 21, 2017: 32900 miles and still runs rough, spits, and sputters especially around corners when turning. Dealer states no engine light on so no repairs needed.

Our 2015 GMC Canyon truck has a little over 36,000 miles on it & is only driven by my husband when he is home every other month. The truck started running like something was seriously wrong with the engine. We did not take it out of the driveway. We called GMC and had a tow truck take it to the Bastrop, TX GMC dealership on Nov. 23, 2019. They replaced the #4 Cylinder Fuel injector and spark plug, but that didn't fix the problem. They noticed that the #6 Cylinder Fuel injector needed replacing also, so they replaced that and the spark plug, but that still did not fix the problem. They then replaced the catalytic converter, but that didn't resolve the problem. They then inspected inside the #6 Cylinder Fuel injector and found an imperfection to the cylinder wall.
Now they have take the whole engine apart and that is the last we have heard from them. They do not call us to give us updates. It is like pulling teeth to get the information on our truck. Here we are in Jan. 2020 and we still do not have our truck. When my husband ask to speak to the Manager, he was told they do not let customers talk to Managers or Technicians. Customers are only allowed to talk to Service Coordinators who have to find out what is going on.
We are totally discussed with GMC and will never buy another vehicle from them. We are also letting everyone we know what type of service and vehicles GMC makes. I'm not sure what recourse we have, but we have been without a vehicle now for over a month and are still making payments on it.
