Canyon SLE 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,208 miles

I bought this (demo) 11,600 km truck in London Ontario on October 10th, and after 3 days I started to notice a low revving vibration. The first time I drove on highway, it was a constant vibration that only stopped at 117 kms (in cruise control).

I contacted the MacMaster dealer, who was not surprised but talked about wheel calibration, and I said the problem was not the wheels and they knew which one it was. I booked the first service, then I got there and they did nothing because they don't have oil to change due to the strike in the USA. It was scheduled for the following week, which was done.

It's been a week now, and so far I haven't felt any vibration. I'll wait until I go to the highway and see how he reacts ...

Canyon LSE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

At first I thought I was hitting rough pavement, like the grooves on the side of the highway, and then realized this was something in the transmission when it was shifting. The truck was jerking and shuddering! With 12,000 miles on it, it is sickening knowing the money I put out for it. They said that changing the transmission fluid will fix the problem - I think it may mask it for a while! I want the problem fixed, not covered up.

Canyon SLT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 37,900 miles

As so many others have said, the transmission, particularly when cold, is very slow to downshift. When at a stop, it is necessary to wait a couple of seconds for the transmission to downshift otherwise, it slams down abruptly. Very unsettling. When moving selector from drive to reverse, it results in a noisy shifting to get to that selection.

Canyon All-Terrain V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 645 miles

Sometimes on level ground the transmission shudders when given just a small bit of acceleration. Feels like you are going over a “washboard” in the road, very annoying. But what concerns me is how long will the transmission last? I only have 900+ miles on the truck. I worked for GM for over 32 years, but now am disappointed in their products. I would think that they should have the transmission problem resolved especially since they have problems with this same transmission since 2005.
