A cracking has occurred where the gasoline filler tube connects to the tank. That caused a vacuum leak, which caused the service engine soon light to illuminate. Dealership has diagnosed, and confirmed cracking and advised gasoline leaking could occur and recommends replacing tank. 1.vacuum leak renders gasoline tank emissions system inefficient. 2. if gasoline leak occurs, it is then a fire hazard. The dealership communicated to us, he has seen similar failures in that vehicle model (GMC Envoy).
