the front driver side head light harness is melting . So the harness needs to be replaced. only have put in the canadian tire brand lights(cheap) cause I know I will have to replace it with in the next month ! YOU WOULD THINK GMC, WOULD FIX THIS AND HAVE A RECALL! WELL IT'S THE LAST TIME I spend 40,000 on A GMC product ! I know all cars N trucks and issues etc.. but it's how they deal with it ! and the way they deal with our issues, will not make me spend another 40,000 when I go and look for another car, truck etc... bye bye GMC !!

I think my use of enhanced performance General Electric bulbs which are higher intensity (and heat) contributed to the melting of the driver-side bulb socket. Given that a standard halogen light can be purchased for $7 and some of the high-end lights are $25 ea. I read somewhere that lamps degrade and they (they - they people who make money off us) recommend replacing the bulb after a year. I don't blame GM as I used an aftermarket product that probably exceeded their spec. IMHO, the solution is to simply watch for sales and replace the standard halogen light on an annual basis to get continuously acceptable brightness without burning out the wiring.
