bought this 2005 envoy used from a reputable dealer (whatever that means ) bought a "bumper to bumper" extended warranty. Last year at the dealership inspection (that's DEALERSHIP inspection )the tps was coded at being bad. Argued the point with the warranty company after the dealership tried to charge me $500. to correct the problem. The dealership told me they replaced the tps and all was well...and my inspection went through and yada yada yada...then...time passed...not one week after my "extended warranty" ran out ...magically...my fuel sensor started malfunctioning...and so...i adapted...set the trip meter at every fuel up etc...then...magically ... when i went to get this years inspection ...much to my surprise (not) the tps was bad yet again...so cleaned the throttle position sensor (assembly...note the sensor cannot be changed by it's self at it conveniently is a permanent part of the entire unit...) and of course...i will have to pay $ 500 for a new tps and $600 for the fuel sensor. so...cleaned the tps again...codes cleared went to get the inspection and viola !...more codes...this time for the thermostat...changed the thermostat...codes cleared...went to the inspection station and again ...more codes...this time for p156,p2135,p2101 yada yada yada...so now my wonderful new used car from GM (oh my folks were so happy for me when I bought it !...my first "payment" type car ) is sitting in my driveway and I'll probably have to use it for raking hay or something..maybe hauling firewood...i don't know . what i do know is it's pretty useless to me...all those fancy smancy electronic do dads that the manufacturers have "blessed" us with are making it impossible to fix your own car any more. I spoze it keeps the parts companies in business and new car sales just clickin along...All I know is about a year after I bought this "Vehicle" (I guess that's what it is ) I became disabled and now about one half of my paycheck from the government goes to paying off this piece of crap...( dang...I told myself I wouldn't call it that ) not to mention all the parts I'm spoze to buy which i can't ...so ... Thanks for nothing GM ! You've really done one heck of a job destroying my faith in American made cars ! My dad sold Chevy's back in the 50's and I always dreamed of someday being able to buy a Chevy or GM product. He passed away when I was little and I've struggled to get ahead for the past 40 some odd years and when I finally got all my debts paid, and my son was on his own I decided to go ahead and finally get that car I wanted all those years and hey...what a "lovely surprise". Yeah...this probably won't make much difference to all the powers that be up there in na na land....but...there's always VW...or hey...maybe KIA
