Purchased this 2006 Envoy Denali XL SUV with 76k Mi. Really nice vehicle at first. A week before I went to do the first oil change the truck ran low on oil. It burned 4 qts. of oil in 5K miles. Found out that GMC had a bad baffle design within the valve covers. The oil would get blown into the PVC valve and, down the intake, burned and you never knew it. No leaks or other signs. By the time the warning came on, it was too late. Number 6 cylinder was damaged.
I ended up having to purchase a new motor and persuade a few ex-mechanics to help me replace the engine.
Then because we disconnected the battery, I ran into another problem. The vent actuator went bad. So no air will now blow out the vents, only floor and defrost. Apparently this is a big problem they have as well.
Still have not replaced the actuator, trying to find a way to get to it. It is tucked under the dash almost out of reach.
Another example of an American car company not standing behind their products even after they know there is a problem. My next auto purchase will be the first time I look outside of the American auto industry.

THIS PROBLEM IS VERY ANNOYING EVERY 600 MILES I HAVE TO ADD A QUART OF OIL TO MY VEHICLE AND IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AT LEAST 3 QUARTS. THIS IS GETTING VERY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL IS NOT CHEAP.
