Envoy XL 4WD 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission

In a matter of one weeks time we had 2 door locks fail on the passenger doors of our GMC Envoy XL. The latch that closes the door failed and one of the doors opened while driving the car. I had the first latch on the passenger rear door replaced on September 20th and the same thing happened with the driver side rear door on September 25, 2005. This time I was not driving just putting my child in his car seat and the door would not close. I am talking with GM about this problem because the dealership told me they have changed quite a few of these. This is a major safety issue and needs to be a recalled item. I only had the car 3 years and a part that can cause such a deadly consequence should not wear out. This needs to be investigated.
