Envoy XL 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles
I had been in a front end collision by a drunk driver turning directly in front of me while traveling at a speed of about 50 mph, 5 mph under the speed limit in a 2003 GMC Envoy slt. I have just spent $1700 on the vehicle as there had been a service soon light on about a month ago. My concern is that the airbags did not deploy? I am very concerned with replacing my auto with the same manufacturer due to the situation. I am wondering if there have been related issues. At present I am encountering headaches and stiffness which I hope to have looked at by my family physician tomorrow. My passenger has experienced the same.

Envoy XL 4WD 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 94,500 miles
While traveling at or less than 35 mph, on bright sunny day and on dry pavement vehicle would not stop, brake pedal went to the floor. Let it up and pressed it to the floor again without success. On third attempt jammed the pedal to the floor and the entire car locked up. The steering wheel wouldn't turn, at least one wheel locked, hit the car that was stopped at the stop light. Even after stopping only the service engine check light and the stop engine light illuminated. The brake pedal remained to the floor, and I couldn't not shift into park until after jamming on the pedal several times. 9000 in damage to the vehicle, including the frame had to be pulled, and yet the airbag did not deploy. 4ooo miles to the other vehicle. No injuries.

The check engine light came on and I smelled gas. The dealer informed me that there was a crack between gas tank and the filler neck. The fuel tank was never work on or removed before. Because I did not have the extend warranty and had 56,00 mile there was nothing they could do for me. They also told me that this was a rare thing but they are still not wanting to assist me in the repair which will cost a $1,000.
