Envoy XL

  • 88,000 miles
After storing cargo in the rear of my 2004 GMC Envoy XL, I reached for the handle on the tailgate to close it and once I started to pull down an inch or two the entire rear window shattered. There was no warning or cracks or damage in the glass prior to the incident. I was covered in a shower of glass and shards were in the car, on the ground and in my skin. I have owned the vehicle approx three years and it currently has 88K mi on it. The entire rear window needs to be replaced. Based on my research I fear this may happen again which would be hazardous to anyone in the vicinity.
