I heard am exhaust leak and was informed by the dealer that a cracked manifold was the cause. Cost to repair is estimated at $1100.

While driving at approximately 65 mph on the 405 freeway, the A/C was turned on and the engine died. Previously about 3 days earlier, while stopped at a traffic light, the A/C was turned on and the engine died. Following both incidents, the A/C was turned off and the engine was restarted without further problem.

2004 GMC Envoy xuv dies when in drive and stopped for stop light, stop sign, etc. When the gas is applied, the car dies and I tie up traffic while having to shift to park, restart the engine, and then shift to drive and proceed through the intersection. It never dies while driving, only at a stop. I have had this car to the dealer numerous times and, because there is no "code", they don't know what to do to fix it. The car also has a gas tank that is cracked at the neck and causes the check engine light to be on all the time. The dealership assures me that this is not a safety concern nor does the gas tank crack have anything to do with the engine dying. There is no gas leak but air does get into the tank causing the light to stay on. The throttle body has been cleaned and the entire emission system has also been checked and no one can figure out what the problem is. Dealership also says that the gas tank problem is quite common but that there is no recall..................why not"????" the main computer module was replaced and this has been happening since then.

For the last few months the check engine light would come on and go off after a few days; we took it to our mechanic who ran a diagnostic and they said there is nothing wrong, probably a faulty sensor, not harmful. So, last night while driving, using cruise control and on the interstate my speedometer stopped working. When I came to a stop at an exit I noticed the speedometer was reading 42 mph but I was at a complete stop. I do not even want to imagine what might have happened should it have begun to work while I was doing 60+mph while on cruise control!!! this is extremely dangerous! so I came home and did some research to see if this is a known issue with my 2004 GMC Envoy XL and low and behold this is an issue to all GMC SUVS from 2002-2005! I am disgusted at the information I found that states GMC isn't willing to take ownership of the recall/repair when this is already a known issue!! please act on this with due diligence and recall this faulty instrument panel before someone gets hurt or worse!!!!

I traded my 2005 Ford Focus 26410 miles to wade raulerson GMC on October 3, 2007 wrote two checks in the amount of $500 each that they held for four weeks for a down payment. We looked at a 2004 GMC Envoy with 65,000 miles the salesman quoted us a price of 17,000 so we did the paper work the first time on the 16th we were called in again and told we had to sign more documents this time the price of the Envoy rose to $21698.35, I asked about my 05 Focus was told it sold the next day and we had to have gap protection. Payoff on my car was $12,502.95 and it looked as if they were giving me $14900 but raised the price of the truck by $4000. Bad deal to begin with. The problems began. I had to return it at the end of the month in October 2007 to have the headlights, seatbelt, and motor in the window replaced, and diagnosed to find why the service engine light will not go out. Two weeks later stranded at the daycare I had to buy a new battery. On 05/05/2008 the conditioner went out. I paid the dealership over $100 to tell me it would be an additional $600 plus dollars to repair the mode actuator door motor. October 17, 2008 I spent $375.02 to have both the shift control cable and gear shift lever removed and replaced. Thank god I was actually on a parking lot when the cable broke and not in traffic. Contacting wade raulerson GMC has been useless I have practically been told you bought the "lemon" as-is now it's your troubles! there should be a law against this type of business and not just for new cars. Now no-one will touch it because of the problems it is having and the large amount that's now owed. Every time the VIN is pulled I get pushed out of the door faster than I can blink. Btw the service engine light is still on and has been since I left the dealership. I?M tired of honest hard-working people being raked over the coals by unscrupulous dealers while they get protected by the "as-is" rule then laugh all the way to the bank.

Hello, hope you can help myself and other persons from not happening. I came home from work Saturday, and parked in the garage as usual. After being home and watching some tv I know for sure was 2 in a half hours. My wife asked of me to go to the garage to get some ice cream, we have a freeze in there. I walked in the door and couldn't believe how hot! it was in there it wasn't a hot day at all to make the garage sizzle. We have a thermometer gauge in there and believe me it read 100. I was shocked! I went into the house to get my wife, to let her feel the heat, and try to find the source of the problem. We both thought it was the freezer, because that's the only thing plug in. We felt the freezer from the outside, in some places it was hot. I couldn't take the heat any more and opened the garage door. There was no smell of anything that could be wrong. Then I touch my Envoy, and hood of the car was hot, then we started to feel around the heat from the car was close enough to make the freezer hot. I opened the hood and the part to keep the hood up was to hot to handle. I mange nothing was burning no smell just heat inside and out. I pulled it out of the garage because of fear my garage going up in flames, with gasoline and other flammables. I open the door, and wow the heat I hurried and pulled it out. I looked at the gauges and they all read normal? I asked a few friends and they couldn't figure it out. We left the Envoy in the drive all weekend, and left the garage door open to vent out. To my knowledge this has never happen before. We do have the bumper to bumper plan. Could you please check into problem it could safe a lot of lives. Thank god my wife wanted that orange sherbert.
