The car was running on South hi 35, before arrive to 51th St, austin, Texas. It was Friday, around 10:30, we were in the middle lane going to a medical appointment, when the car stop working, the engine went off. We were two in the car, and we were scare. Thanks god was in the morning, not rush hour, but hi 35 is always busy. We were lucky and found an space between the cars. We just park the car close the exit to go to 51th, but the safety truck which help on hi 35, parked behind us, so it protected us until the tow truck came for us, one and a half hour later.

As I was driving along the air bag light came on. I have seen threads of smoke on 3 or 4 occasions coming from the steering column. The air bag light goes out after a minute and comes on again repeatedly.

GMC Jimmy 2000 fuel gauge not reading the correct amount of fuel. This is a ongoing problem. Running out of gas is a big problem if you don't track mileage. Very unsafe as one could be stranded.
