The multi-function switch developed an open circuit condition that resulted in the stop lamps and the rear hazard lamps becoming inoperative. This occurred because the dealership failed to replace the hazard switch carrier as stated in recall 01V364000. They only inspected the part and closed the campaign. Currently, the defect occurred they charged to consumer to replaced the part due to the campaign being closed.

I was pulled over by a police and given a ticket for no brakes lights. I knew that I had checked my brake lights periodically and they had worked. Took it in to be check out and found that the multi-function switch was not operating correctly. My mechanic stated that in the last 6 months that he replaced several of these. I called GMC and spoke with a gentleman and told him that I just paid $394 for this part and he stated that it was recalled and to send my receipts and I could get reimbursed. Now I got a denial letter stating that they are not going to give me my refund and I am very upset. $400 is a whole paycheck to me.
