Jimmy SLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,445 miles

I believe its wrong for a transmission to go out on a vehicle that has less then 100,000 miles on it. My Jimmy had been giving me trouble for a few months. It didn't seem to want to accelerate when entering the freeway, so I had it check out. After spending over 800 dollars to have various things done to my Jimmy, such as the transmission serviced and having the pins replaced in the door because water was leaking in, I thought I was set for a while. Well less than 3 months later (which I only use the Jimmy on weekends because I have a company vehicle during the week) the transmission just quits on me.It wouldn't go into reverse at all, and wouldn't go over 10 mph, accompanied by a high pitch screeching noise. Somebody should be responsible for putting such a terrible product into the marketplace.

On top of which, I've had another recurring problem for the last 12 months. Sometimes you can't push the button in on the gear shift to change gears. Then, when you go to stop and put it into park, you turn the key to turn the car off, but you cant get the key out of the ignition! So I have to repeatedly turn the car on and off until I can get the key out.
