I have two GMC 1500 5.3L pickups, One being a 2007 and the other a 2012. The problem is with oil usage on both vehicles. I had talk to dealerships in past and they wanted me to come every week for them to check the oil. Who has time to do that, esp. when traveling with your job?
This pickup does not leak oil nor do I see it smoking going down the road. Its going somewhere! I have to carry quarts of oil around and try to maintain the appropriate oil level. Dealerships act like they know nothing about it but when you want to trade vehicle in they want to know about engine lights and oil usage. It’s absurd how little they want to give for trades. So I still have, but after 2 GMCs, I’m ready for a change. I would love to be in on these class action lawsuits but have not heard anything.
Update from Sep 5, 2020: I’d also like to say that the plugs foul quite often and it’s usually 1 and 7. I use to change all of them but now I just change out the fouled ones about ever 6 months or so.
