problem #3

Sierra 1500 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • miles
If slowing down to stop, I apply my brakes, if I am going over any bumbs in the road my brakes release make it impossible for me to stop in time, so for no wrecks but if my speed was higher and had to make a stop where there are bumps or ripples in the road, there will be an accident.

Started vehicle. Put in reverse and heard noise. Electronic motor power switch to the ABS control unit (called the ebcm-electronic brake control module)had failed causing the pump to run all the time even after switch was turned off and engine stopped.unplugged motor to keep from burning it up and causing additional expense.vehicle has been well taken care of and has less than 50,000. GM should have to do a recall and fix and or replace all of these ABS control units that have failed.electronic motor switch to small and overloaded by pump motor. ABS will not work creating a safety hazard when braking. With all the emphasis on vehicle safety issues I thing this is a real issue and should be resolved immediately.
