The contact owns a 1999 GMC Sierra extended cab. He received a recall notice from the manufacturer to repair and replace the driver and passenger side seat belt. The recall repair was completed 06/21/06 and stated that the seat belts worked for two months. On 08/2006 the driver side seat belt failed. The contact is unable to lock the seat belt due to it being lodged into the seat cushion. Two months after the seat belt stopped operating normally. While driving the vehicle the seat cushion separated, dropped to the floor and both arm rest on the passenger and driver side fell off of the seat. The dealer stated that he was responsible for replacing the seat belt. The cost of the seat belt was $75 and the seat cushion was $500. The contact filed a complaint with GMC?S consumer assistance center and was given case# 71-494868469. The failure mileage was 15000 and the current mileage was 169000.
