Sierra 1500 Denali 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission

I lost both front and rear brakes at the same time. I have been a die hard GM owner all my life. Not now. Using cheap steel brake lines on a truck. I'm lucky I did not get killed or kill somebody because of the brakes going out. If it wasn't for the trailer brakes Somebody would have died. Brakes are a safety system and should never have fail like they did. GM should recall all GMC's trucks and replace the brake line.

The brake line on rear of truck that was not replaced in 2013 broke like the first one did. Applied the brake for a stop sign and brake pedal went to the floor. Thank God there was no coming down the road I had stopped for. Drove it in low gear and used the parking brake to get to a shop close by.

This shop was Keisers Automotive and the mechanic told me that the steel line had ruptured just back of the gas tank. This is the same type of steel line that was made in Japan and from reclaimed steel. General Motors should be ashamed of themselves pushing something like this on their customers. He also said that he installed copper line in the place of the ruptured one.
