Sierra 1500

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,000 miles

Bought my 2010 GMC Sierra Crew cab used from a dealership with 95,000 miles and have had several issues occur in the first week. First I notice the defrost not working properly, allowing condensation to build up layers of ice on the inside of the windows. The windshield clears up in the middle, but the edges do not. The 4 side windows are completely covered other than the small 4 inch circle the side vents clear up. This gets worse the more people I have with me and feels very dangerous while traveling with my Family.

Day 3 of ownership I get an error message about the stability control while on the highway which drastically reduced my speed from 75 down below 50 mph, pretty unsafe to go along with poor visibility from the defrost not working. Next I found a leak in the coolant lines which should not happen when a dealership looks over this vehicle thoroughly. As the problems continue to compound I now notice water dripping from the overhead interior light.

The dealership has tried to blame the condensation on their detailer leaving too much water. However with multiple sites listing the defrost and condemnation issue on this truck it is not from the detailing.

GMC, you should take pride in your vehicles and stand up to this issue and fix the problem before someone gets hurt due to lack of visibility. My 16 year old son would love to drive this truck, but I do not feel it is safe with the Stability control and Defrost issues this truck has.
