Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,411 miles

My dash has a large hole in it and is cracked in one place and broke in three other places. The whole dash makes all kinds on noises while driving. I am very disappointed in GMC having this problem, and today the 02/19/2022 is the first day I was told by my GMC car salesman that GMC had a recall on the dashboard. I have had several GMC new vehicles in the past and have been a faithful to GMC dealership for many years. Thanks!!!

Seems to be a problem in many 2010 GMC Sierras.. and Chevrolets of similar style. Should be a recall and a fix by GMC.

Never expected the dash to crack. Terrible looking. This should never have happen. I expect more for General Motors. May never purchase another GM product. Is there any help to this this dash replaced, since it is all one piece?

Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Having a $50k + truck is a beautiful thing... And it looks great! Until you open the doors and take a look at the dash. I have people that LOVE my truck and the dash gets them every time. The cause of concern is the crack over the passenger airbag. IF that deploys, I'm concerned with it shattering and hitting any occupant in the vehicle. NOT COOL.

cracked dashboard

The cracked dash issue is very frustrating. I personally 4 friends that have had the same issue on GM/GMC Pickups and the Yukon and Tahoe Cracked Dash page on Facebook is filled with vehicle upon vehicle with the same poor quality and potentially dangerous dash issue. GM has a serious quality issue and unlike other vehicle manufactures that step up and do the right thing by recalling defective issues, GM is apparently taking the low road and will not acknowledge their short comings. I have a Sierra and my wife bought and Acadia the same day! We'll both be looking to a different/dependable and quality manufacturer, very disappointing as I was trying to stay with American made products.

From what I have seen on line, this a is a very common problem, very poor design, GM should fix it for free!

Sierra 1500 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I bought this truck used from Car Max and when I made them aware of the cracked dash, (right in front of the air bag on passenger side), they were great about getting it taken care of. They called a local vinyl repair shop and had a dash cover installed over the original one. They matched the color nicely and it has a lifetime warranty. This truck SHOULD NOT have had this issue.

The dash is cracked near passenger airbag and above the gauges. These cost far to much to be having this issue! Extremely low mileage, but myself and may more are having this problem.
