problem #2

Dec 132014

Sierra 1500 WT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,869 miles

COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS WAS THE THROTTLE BODY, REPLACED WITH UPDATED UNIT, THEN IT WAS OKAY FOR A FEW MONTHS, IT HAPPENED AGAIN, TOOK TO MECHANIC, HE REPLACED SAME PART, THAT ONLY LASTED A FEW DAYS, THEY SENT A REBUILD KIT, THAT LASTED A FEW MONTHS. THE REAL PROBLEM IS EITHER THE COMPUTER OR WIRING, BUT BECAUSE THATS NOT

WHAT THE DIAGNOSIS ON THE COMPUTER SAYS, GMC IS NOT FIXING IT. THIS SAME PART HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES. AGAIN IN DECEMBER 2015 GM REPLACED IT, 1/22/16 IT HAPPENED AGAIN, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON MONDAY 1/25/16 THE COMPUTER HAD RESET, SO THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. WHEN I SAY IT LOSES POWER, I MEAN 1 OR 2 MPH IS THE BEST IT WILL GO. HOW DANGEROUS IS THAT!!!!!! I'M GOING TO GET KILLED IN THIS THING.

I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT FAR FROM HOME, JUST TO THE DEALER IS 25 MILES AND I HAVE TO TRAVEL A ROAD WITH NO SHOULDERS, I'VE HEARD THAT GMC KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT IS AVOIDING A RECALL. WHATS IT GOING TO TAKE, SOMEONE TO BE KILLED? IF THE THROTTLE BODY WERE THE PROBLEM, WHY CAN I TAKE OUT THE FUSE, WAIT A MINUTE THEM PUT IT BACK IN AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY? I THINK ITS YOUR STUPID COMPUTER!!!

Sierra 1500 Z-71 SLT 5.3

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

My 2010 GMC truck suddenly had significantly reduced engine power while going down a steep hill in 2-3 feet of snow. A dash display indicating the power reduction also. This rendered the truck difficult to control and a dramatic reduction in speed.
