Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

I have a cracked dash and when I noticed it, it was still under warranty. I took truck to dealership for repair and they said they would not cover it and neither would GM. About a week later$, I took my truck to my mechanic and he said he could fix it for $900 in labor and an additional $600 for the dash itself, for a grand total of 1500. I was so upset about the cost of the whole thing. Now my truck truck is worth even less. I need help in Texas.

Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,607 miles

I purchased a 2011 GMC Denali. For a whole hell of a lot of money. Baby the crap out of this truck and what do I get? A very low mileage piece of crap I have to spent a fortune on getting fixed because the auto industry cares more about the bottom line than the consumer. You know it's bad when there is a Facebook page dedicated to the issue you're having. Why is this not a recall yet?

The crack is on the passenger side dash and right in the corner of the airbag. I think this could be dangerous if the airbag was to deploy. Too much to pay for a vehicle that the dash cracks on. I think this should be replaced by GM.

I AM DISAPPOINTED IN THE CRACKED DASHBOARD OF MY GMC SIERRA 2011 TRUCK, AS IT WAS BUILT TO BE STRONG AND TOUGH. THE DEALER HERE IN QATAR CAN'T FIX OR REPLACE IT. I HAD NEVER SEEN SAME ISSUE WITH ANY OTHER BRANDS EVEN THE KOREAN CAR THAT IS STILL IN GREAT CONDITION COMPARING TO THE GREAT NAME GMC SIERRA TRUCK.

It was bad to have a new GMC truck and have the dash crack on it and watch it bob up and down and see it with two crack in it. GMC should have a recall on it because it is a defect in the DASH...you buy a new truck and won't it to look nice, but this happen and you have these big cracks in the dash...you pay a lot of money for them and you expect it to last a long time ..SO FIX GMC!!

This is the 3rd GM Pickup I've purchased new along with 6 other new GMs (2 Yukons, 2 Z-24's, 1 Gran Prix....) This is the first dash to crack? I got online and found several others with the same complaint.

This seems to be a common problem among GM trucks. There should be a recall on this item.

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. I noticed a couple of years ago that the dash vibrated a little but didn't really think too much of it. Well, the dash started getting really bad and I recently noticed 4 different cracks (2 in front of the driver's side and 2 in front of the passengers side). I reached out to the dealership I purchased the truck from and they said since there isn't a recall and my manufacture warranty is out I would have to pay $1100 to replace the dash. I am very concerned because 2 of the cracks are around the passenger air bag. In my opinion this is a safety concern.
