problem #2

Apr 022018

Sierra 1500

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,000 miles

GMC sent me a notice 2016 about the possibility of my rear spring breaking that was good for 5 years from the day truck was in service or 100,000 miles. My spring didn't break until 2018 and I only have 87,000 miles on the truck and I am the original owner. I feel like because GMC knew about the problem that I shouldn't be the one to pay for the repair. I spoke with my local dealer who wants to sell me a new truck and I told him that if GMC won't help me I will buy a Ford.

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

Two weeks ago i began hearing a subtle noise in the rear of the truck while backing up or driving over small bumps. Now two weeks later this noise is no longer subtle it is very loud and shakes the entire truck, after taking it in to a gm service department I was told this is normal over time, the truck is less than two years old, never driven hard, never off road or muddy, so how is this normal . Seems like a safety hazard because the noise is coming from play in my rear axle, I can shake the rear of my truck and feel the knock all the way through my wheels. Still waiting for gm to make a decision on the problem .
