Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,000 miles

I own a GMC Denali 1500 6.2 L At around 32 to 33,000 miles That the Front AWD Front Trans Axle blew out, chewed up all the gears . I had a extended warranty, which was at the point of expiring. By the time the Dealership had gotten it in and diagnose it then warranty was at the expiring point. Contacted Gm and made me still pay 40 % of the cost to repair it ( Basically I paid for the parts and GM worked out a deal with dealership for the mechanic's time ) The Stability Traction control Alert was coming on and off ( still is ) They said the repair would more than likely fix it. When I got the vehicle it was OK for a week or so and it started again and then the Dealership said the Senor that monitors is faulty and they need another 3 to 4 hundred to fix it .

Plus in the next 1 and a few month the vehicle had to be return twice to repair the drive seal on the Front Trans Axle that they had replaced ( try cleaning that crap off you paved Driveway ) Let me do everyone consider buying a GM product a favor. Get out this info from GM own site where they receive 1 STAR.

NOW PLEASE GET THIS INFO RIGHT HERE < VERY IMPORTANT GM HAS 1079 COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEIR PRODUCTS, they have 0 Pending , but a WHOPPING 3 RESOLVED. THE LINK IS BELOW, I believe that should be sufficient to help other decide, DO I WANT A GM PRODUCT EVER OR AGAIN . Take a look for yourself, PLEASE Then show your Friends and Family

Sierra 1500 K1500 SLE 8 cyl,4.8L Fi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

I own a 2012 GMC Sierra that keeps displaying "Service Stabilitrak, Service Traction Control" in the DIC.Tis just recently started happening. I did read the owners manual and it states that when the Stabilitrak is overheated, this error can display. I turned the Stabilitrak off, because it states you should use it during certain periods of time that it does not need to stay on. I also read that the truck SHOULD NOT be left in automatic, that that type of driving is used for varied driving conditions. Recently, over the past 2 weeks, the Stabilitrak keeps turning on and off, message displaying on and off. I bought this truck brand new off the lot in May 2012 from Union-Buick-Pontiac GMC of Union, NJ. I have even owned a brand new 2010 GMC Terrain with no problems and a 2006 pre-owned GMC Envoy Denali with no problems. What should I do about this? What is the fix? Is it just a bad sensor? or the throttle body? or a bad hub? or the wheel bearings?Should I buy the read and hook it up and let it tell me what's wrong?

Update from May 31, 2014: Service Stabilitrak problem was recently fixed at my local GMC dealership. This is the code and what it stated on my service receipt. "CODE CO253 STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR INTERMITTENT OPEN/ NEC. TO REPLACE STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR AND CLEAR CODE." For those of you who are wondering where the sensor is for this stupid problem, it is all the way down the steering column...technically under the truck but out of reach. My whole steering column had to be removed to get to the sensor causing this problem.I did not have to pay. The truck is still covered under the warranty.

Sierra 1500 Texas Edition 4800

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,500 miles

I too having problem with sensors on dash. Stabilizer/Tracker control went out.

Went in to dealer, says General Motors says must try to put grease in connectors first to try to repair. Didn't last 24 hours. Had to make another trip and waste another day waiting on repairs. Finally replaced electric and sensor. No problem last 200 miles. Add grease in the sensors? Really? Don't waste my time!
