problem #1

Dec 132012

Sierra 1500 SLE 4.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 129 miles

I just purchased the freaking truck brand new 6 miles on it, picked it up at night as I was sitting in the truck setting up the on star feature I noticed that the headlights and inside panel would flicker high and low the engine has rough idle. I figured it just needed to run a bit to allow sensors to adjust and complete on board computer syncronization. 12/5/12 I took the truck home it sat in my front yard for a week and a half then we drove it. While in the city we were going over some dips in the road and I had to slow down as I accelarated the throttle drops out then a thump and jerk sensation is felt and the truck moves normally. It did that on every freaking dip it felt as if some one hit us from behind. So I ask my wife to switch with me so she could drive and it also did it to her. We both agreed it had a problem and needed to go back to the dealer 12/13/12. When I had the opportunity I took it to the dealer 12/19/12. On 12/20/12 I recieved a call that they could not find anything wrong with the truck and that I needed to drive the truck longer to allow the on board computer to learn my driving habits. According to them the truck is has some kind of intelligance software that learns as I drive and adjust according to the way I drive. B/S the Truck is fitted with a preprogrammed 7 type driving options and is able to select one of this preprogrammed setting according to drive habit of operator. I must agree to disagree. I went to pick up the truck and asked their head technician to go on a drive along he tried unsuccessfully to convince me there is nothing wrong with the truck. After a while we came to some railroad tracks I slowed to cross over and then accelarated the truck thumped and jerked he looked around and said what? I said that's what it does I was able to duplicate the trouble three times on that road in less than a half mile. I then drove on the highway and showed a RPM drop out before the truck passing gear ingages. He stated something like that is normal due to the TCC lock in and more B/S. Right as we drove up to the dealership crossing railroad tracks again it jerked and thump on take off. He said we need to check that out. As we pulled in he asked that I open the hood and he checked the wires on the truck due to rough idle and irratic RPM then he pull the dip stck on the transmission to check oil level. We went inside and he told the service rep. they needed to check the truck further. So they kept it. Today 12/21/12 I went to see the status of the truck they wanted me to take the truck with me and drive it for 2,000 miles to allow the truck to memorize my driving habbit B/S again. They really tried to push me to take the truck and bring it back after 2,000 miles if the problem still appears. I did not take the truck if they can't fix it I don't want it. They said if it requires a new Transmission it's under warranty and they'll replace it. I don't want them tearing into my brand new truck that's why I bought a new truck not a fixer upper. Their incompetence is showing.
