Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

Both heated seat cushions hardly had any heat, then quit working altogether. Both drivers and passenger seat bottoms. Back still heated. Took to dealer for diagnostics. Open circuit in both heater elements meaning they had failed. Contacted GMC and complained and they agree to pay 40% of my repair bill. They know they have an issue with these I am guessing to pay the 40% even though it's out of warranty. Feel they should have paid it all. Have seen many reports of this failure online.

So I buy this 14 GMC SIERRA DOWN back in September of this year, I go to turn on my heated seats and they DON'T WORK! I've read in different forums where everybody is complaining about these seats. And whats even worse is that neither seats up front work. I have checked for blown fuses and checked the connectors to make sure they are connected.

Sierra 1500 Denali 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,000 miles

My Sierra has heated/cooled seats - supposedly. The seat does not feel warm - the back does. I live in an area where temps will get below 0F 17C degrees. It would be nice to get what I paid for a nice warm seat. GMC engineers screwed this one up totally!!

Update from Feb 2, 2017: I finally complained to GM. I had an immediate response. I was called by my dealer to schedule an appointment. Wow the seat heat that was previously was diagnosed as " checks out fine " was now shorted out!

Now after about 10 minutes I have to turn the heat down because it is getting very warm.

Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12 miles

Heated seats DO NOT heat up. I ordered the ventilated seats on this truck and have had 7 other GM vehicles with heated seats that did heat up - dealer says that's the way they are - GM missed their so called mark of excellence but I guess that's why Ford is # 1.

This truck is great in so many areas. However, the heated seats barely keep warm. Living in a very cold state just makes one really notice the problem.
