I traded in my 2011 Silverado in January of 2015 for a 2014 GMC Sierra AT. My Silverado was FLAWLESS but I was excited to get something with more bells and whistles. Right off the get go (the truck was a demo and had 4,000 km's on it) I noticed a slight vibration at speeds between 50-60km and 90-120km. It wasn't bad enough to go right back but did mention it on my first service. I was told my tires were out of balance, so they re-balanced and off I went.

As soon as I left I knew it had not corrected the problem, so I called and advised I would bring it in again to have it looked at. During that time, the paint had started chipping off the painted bumper on the truck. Dealership took in and repainted and put a plastic coating on it, relooked at it and said one tire was out of balance again.

Left and next oil change told them truck STILL had the vibration. This time they took all the weights off the tires and put all new ones on...charged me for this re-balancing. At this time the Dealership manager came out and asked what was going on, at this point the truck had 19,000 km's. I explained my issues and frustrations. He went out and had a look at the truck and noted my tires were scalloped and that could be causing the issue. Regardless, he gave me a loaner and went to work on the issue.

5 days later, they had put two new tires on the front and said the two on the back were within spec and said I was good to go. I also PAID for an alignment because I wanted to be sure. I got about a week, and then the vibration was back. I mentioned it my next oil change and was told a tire was out of balance again. I asked is there a problem with these rims?? I was told no....so off I go. In the meantime, the ride of this truck is getting worse and worse along with the continued vibration.

I took the truck in Monday after the service manager went for a drive and felt vibration. I asked them to check shocks as it rides like an old tractor. Sure enough, One shock is leaking and one weeping...in the rear. Truck has 30,000 kms on it. So they have to order the shocks and then will check the vibration again, They are now blaming my rear tires. I am not keen to buy new tires at this point, I feel the vibration is inherent and when I pay 50,000 for a vehicle, I expect quality. Not constant visits to the dealership. Very disappointed and not sure what steps I will take if this vibration issue is not rectified.

Purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE4.3 on 09/11/2015 that was a drake unit from the dealer with 3051 miles. Noticed a vibration after leaving the dealership, but thought I would give the Vibration a while to see if this problem would disappear Had a knee replacement and was unable to drive for 8 weeks. Once I returned to driving I noticed the vibration that would start around 38 and would gradually get worse as you increased speed. Took the vehicle to the dealer where one One tire was replaced, but this did not fix the problem. Transported an Engine using a 4x8 utility trailer, and the vibration was bad at any speed. Without any load, I could feel the vibration starting at 46 MPH and would smooth out by letting off of the gas, The vibration was worse starting at 51 MPH up to 65. The truck has now been at the dealer for two weeks starting the third today with no solution.The Dealer was instructed by Gm Take all of the body mount bolts loose. No Fix. The drive shaft has been replaced NO Fix. 4 new tires and wheels were used. No Fix. The Rear end was checked for Ring Gear runout. No Fix. The Transmission has been shimmed. No Fix. New clamps have been installed on the exhaust system and this made the vibration even worse No Fix. All body mount bolts, transmission mounts, and engine mounts were loosened and deadlift completed. No Fix. All of these fixes were at GM's request. The Dealer has more than helpful. It's really sad when you buy a $40,000.00 truck and have a problem of this nature.

All GMC Sierra 2014-2015 vibrate and shake at different speeds but it is noticeable 60-80mph range the most at 1800-1900RPM, also 30-40mph at 1100-1200RPM , couldn't get problem fixed, all they talk about and change is tires, yet I keep telling them it is coming from engine/transmission, I had the general service manager of the local dealership drive it together with sales guy and me, nice guys trying to help but no clue, both acknowledge vibrations, offered all new tires.... So I say let's drive different brand new same trim and engine Sierra, with different brand new tires, guess what?? same vibrations. So the sales guy goes "they must all shake, sh*t", so I go I told you so, so we take 2500 Duramax diesel for a ride (thinking the tranny/ torque distributor is messed up on all 5.3 V8) with Allison tranny, guess what?? vibrates too, little different feel of course but same type of shaking/vibrations

What is going on GM?? Anyone at GM engineering department, please do share your thoughts, at least with me if, if you don't want to tell your dealers

I brought my truck in to my GMC dealer where I purchased. Explained to them that there was a vibration at around 40 and 70 mph. Also a clunking sound in the driveline when the transmission shifts. The dealer immediately informed me that they knew what it was and gave me a loaner truck. The dealer said it would take a few days. I was not contacted at all about the status of my truck.

After a couple of days I called to check and was told that it was the rear end. I asked when can I pick it up. Was told that they would call. A couple of more days they called and said they had tried a few things and that it was worse. Don't come pick your truck up but come by we need to swap loaner vehicles with you.

When I got there the service manager informed me that they had removed the computer and rear end ring and pinion and we're waiting on GM to tell them what else to try. I told him I want another truck. He said that was a sales department issue. When I went to pick out another truck they offered me $750 less than NADA rough trade in for my truck. My truck is perfect(16000 mile) Nada retail 43000 they offered me 33000 then tried to justify it by saying that this was fair market value. Needless to say I haven't traded. I have demanded they either give me a new truck for what I owe or I want my money back. ....... As of 12/28/15 I'm waiting on them to contact a regional GM guy and call me back

Update from Jan 5, 2016: Got my truck back after 3 weeks and 2 repairs later. The dealer replaced the ring and pinion in the reared on the first repair and the carriage bearings on the differential on the second repair. It's better now. Going to drive it for a few days. I can't believe that GM didn't know about this issue. One of the loaner 2015 trucks they let me have has the same issue mine did.

Update from Jan 12, 2016: Back to the dealer today vibration has returned.(70 mph) This is the 3rd time for the same problem. I just want a truck that rides probably. Update to follow.

This truck has been taken back to Hudson Buick GMC in Poughkeepsie NY at least eight times. Spent many days in there shop.The following was done at this dealership 1-tires rebalanced 2-rims balanced 3-tires and rims rebalanced 4-Vibration test box used and driveshaft reindexed 5-driveshaft reindexed again 6-GMC rep. replaced driveshaft 7-tires replaced, my cost 300 8-vibration machine used again, this time I was told there is nothing wrong with the truck. Within specs? why was the above tried if its normal and within specs.

After driving now for 40,000 miles, I have determined the problem is when the drivetrain is in the V4 mode of operation. This was just verified at another dealership on 12-20-15, and we now have a GMC tech rep called, to help evaluate this condition. At no time was this problem admitted by GM that they have a problem. Google it yourself.

I, and most of my family, have always purchased GMC/Chevy trucks so I thought for my sons first automobile we would get him a GMC/Chevy truck. We decided to purchase new, not wanting the top model but purchase a nice new basic truck. He doesn't drive much and hasn't racked up a lot of miles (13,000 to date in a 2014). I drove the truck in May and quickly noticed some significant shaking... and asked how long this has been going on received the typical 17 yr old answer "awhile". I then brought to tire shop as we had for his birthday bought him some new rims and tires. The tire company has gone above and beyond to assist us.... I will not say the same for GMC and our local dealer. We have been dealing with this issue since May (now into September) with no resolution from either. I have documented calling the dealer with no call in return for over a month, to then get a response that the specs are within GM standards... why doesn't someone from GM come by the truck from me and see if they like the shaking going down the road! I would gladly sell it at a discount to any GM Vice President - let their kid drive it. A very serious safety issue...

I was also told that GM has set a tire pressure policy to fix the issue that cant be obtained!!!

I could go on and on about the lack of service received from GM and my dealer, needless to say I am going to be passing on this experience to my family and all my friends.

Vibrations began shortly after delivery. Dealer balanced wheels but problem remained. Returned to dealer twice as mileage grew, each time requesting a road test using some sort of "devices for measuring vibration". Tech stated both times that vibrations were within normal limits as set by factory. Vibrations continued at various speeds (25 mph to 65+ mph) and grew in intensity so at 5000 miles I requested another tech-driven test. Dealer refused (neither GMC nor the dealer would pay for it) so tech test drove it for 10 miles, stating that there was no change from previous test he conducted. (The man must have a fabulous memory!)

Dealer and factory rep blames the vibration on the switch from running at full 6 cylinder mode to 4 cylinder mode. When running on 4 cylinders the vibrations occur. In 6 cylinder mode you really can't tell because truck is accelerating and there is no vibration during that time.

I think dealer is hiding behind fact that GMC knows there is a problem but has no cure for it.

I purchased 2014 GMC 1/2 ton 4wd drive. Starting noticing a vibration at 60-70MPH after about fifty miles took it bake to dealership and FORCED a service person to ride with me so he could understand what I was talking about. After driving it he said " I can feel it but it is probably flat spots on the tires from it sitting on lot for 9 months" I thought yea right!. So I purchased new tires and guess what it did not change. Finally here in May of 2015 they finally put new drive shaft in because it was out of balance.
