I have a 2014 GMC Sierra, I started my truck to warm it up. I went inside and after a few minutes I went outside and my truck was engulfed in flames. Luckily I was not parked in the garage and nobody was in my truck. It was parked in my driveway at the time. I am unknown...however there is recall for electrical/computer problem for my 2014 Sierra but my truck has not been part of this recall. My truck is totaled!

Written by my wife on 11/04/16: On 11/02/16 at approximately 2:45 pm I was driving slowly through a parking lot trying to find a space. I found a space and as I turned my wheel to the left it locked up roughly, jerking the steering wheel out of my hands as I pulled into the spot. After the steering wheel locked up, jerking very abruptly, the power surged and the truck died. This is probably the 30th time this has happened to me. This particular time there was no error message displayed this time. Usually I get a message which pops up on the instrument cluster forward of the steering wheel that says 'service stabiltrac' or 'action required, steering assist is reduced, drive with care.' It seems there is a steering malfunction because this issue usually occurs while making a turn but the truck has had this same error message while driving straight on the highway. I am unsure of what the problem is but I do know it is dangerous to drive this vehicle until the problem is resolved. Road conditions/weather conditions also play no part in when this malfunction takes place. Other pertinent information regarding this issue is that the headlights do flicker from time to time. We have been dealing with this issue since August of this year and have still not found a resolution. Landmark Chevrolet in taylorville, il has had our vehicle in the shop 4 times on this issue alone and put over 200 miles on our vehicle with no resolution. Friendly Chevrolet in springfield il had our truck for nearly 3 weeks and put over 70 miles on the vehicle...no resolution. The contact also stated the vehicle consumed the engine oil prematurely and exhibited electrical failure with the windows opening and closing independently and the headlights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failures however; the dealer advised there was nothing they could do to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified F the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a excessive voltage drop resulted in a loss of power with the manual trailer brake, the BCM, electronic BCM, ECM, steering. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,416.

Clock and outside air temp readings are so small, you can't see them, without taking your eyes off the road, long enough to bend over close to the radio. This is as bad as someone using a cell phone to send and receive text. I have driven off the road twice, but have not crashed yet. My GM dealer says, the readings can not be made larger, and to be very careful.

The headlights on this truck are unsafe, they do not project enough light ahead for safe driving at night. One has to depend on the street lighting or stars. I have come close to hits others on the roads for the lack of projection of these lights. The truck becomes a hazard on the highway do to the slow speed one has to travel to stay within the headlights. Please address this with GMC before someone is hurt or killed.

I am having problems with door chime and dome lights not shutting off with key in ignition on different occasions when door is closed. I also have the same with them not coming on when opening door on different occasions. It started approx. A month after purchasing and still happening now. It has not happened at the dealership yet and GM says they will not check into it unless a GM rep. Is a witness to it happening.
