Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L V8

I've always had terrible fuel mileage since I took this truck home for the first time. Dealer always says wait till its broken in. I now have 21000km on the truck now and I'm averaging 11.2mpg. GM won't help me and I'm getting pissed off with them and I will soon trade this in on a Ford

Sierra 1500 SLT Z71 5.3L V8

mpg went down 20% after recall fix

I was getting 24.4 MPG highway and 18 MPG city on my 2014 GMC Sierra. Then a required GMC recall changed the computer settings. My dealership checked the computer program, changed the oil, checked tire pressure and discussed the problem with GM. The best they got was slightly over 18 MPG. On long trips with no passengers, cargo, and a tonneau cover the best I can get now is 20 MPG highway and 11 MPG city with a combined MPG of 16. GM says I should get 24 MPG highway and 18 MPG city.
