Sierra 1500 LT 4.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,800 miles

On 4/15/17 we were up the road at some friend's house, when we were leaving I pressed the lock on the fob in order to honk the horn and scare any cats out from under the truck. Subsequently when we got in truck and I started it up the headlights didn't come on. We drove home using the fog lights, narrow very rural road & poor visibility, fortunate no other traffic.

This morning I drove to the GMC dealer when it was light enough to do so safely, figuring it was a fuse or something like that. (100 miles each way) To my surprise and shock BOTH headlights were burned out, repairs came to $247.74 !! ($85.24 for 2 bulbs + $162.50 labor) Further, the service manager said the mechanic told him they have seen that before.

What if we were in rest stop in the middle of North Dakota and that happened, we would have had to stay until day time to proceed, hardly a safe system, or worse yet an emergency trip.
