Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20 miles

I was not aware of these many complaints. I believe that GMC is not wanting to listen to complaints. Until perhaps a few deaths are incurred, The best thing to do is make truthful negative comments and connect them to any GMC site.

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,000 miles

Both cavities to the tail light housing are open to the undercarriage and filled with mud from what the tires kick up, there are no guards that protect that area from road grime. I had a guy I work with check his 2011 and he has the same problem with his(his lamp went out and his tail light had water in it). The sockets in both of my tail lights were corroded and burned up. After a week and a half I picked up my truck to drive it home and find that one of the lights was still not working. I took it back to the dealer(Ray Laethem GMC to have them replace a apparent burned out lamp(they had just fixed it?). Before I left the second time I decided to check my cab light and found that it was not working so I opened the tail light myself to find the dealer had never reconnected it!!! First and possibly the last GMC that I buy, especially since the week after getting this repair, consumer reports listed the GMC truck as on of the least reliable trucks on the market.
