Sierra 1500 Z71 Kodiak SLE 5.3L

So, I bought my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 Kodiak Edition with FACTORY Running Boards, Tonneau Cover, Vent Visors, Bug Deflector and Line X spray in Box Liner. After the first winter, the Chrome Running Boards were rusting and pitting horribly. I couldn't believe it as I had actually put chrome polish on the entire pieces twice that summer to prevent exactly this...So, I brought it to the dealer and they replaced them as GMC OEM Accessories have 36 month warranty. I was actually happy they fixed something for free under warranty and was satisfied.

Now this was in 2016, in May 2018 here we go again, the exact same issue happens to the replaced Chrome Running Boards on the passenger side.

I brought the truck in for an oil change and mentioned the issue as this would be the second time it happened. GUESS WHAT??? GMC does not replace the same defective unit a second time, as it is Company Policy...So, now I have been at the same Dealership about 20 times for different issue, not including recalls and Oil and tire changes so they know me.

I lose my mind at them and said if I would have know this, I could have saved myself a heck of a lot of money buying aftermarket accessories... But I bought them here with the truck for that exact reason, the warranty. So, pretty excited now and walk into the office of the salesman and start the list of reasons why I am not satisfied with the truck and the issue with the running boards, head lights, seat coming unbolted and the list that everyone else has. The prick could only say he was sorry for my misfortune and offered to put me in a new 2018 for the same payment. Well, I obviously told him that I would never by another GMC from this dealership or any other for that matter.

I also said if I were to trade it in, it would be for a Ford or Dodge. His last comment to me was, well they are worse and they to have them on their Used Car Lot...I said, the poor guy who traded his decent truck for these pieces of Junk will be seriously disappointed....

So, lesson learned, do not buy OEM Accessories. You're better off buying aftermarket or Canadian Tire Stuff... At least you will probably get Customer Service!!!
