My truck lost all audio including radio, turn signals and seat belt warning chimes. I feel this is a major safety concern not having a seat belt warning as well as an open door alert. The dealership notified me there is not a recall on the 2015 model and I would be charged for any and all labor.

On numerous occasion the vehicles intierior audio chimes do no alert if doors are open, seatbelts are fastened, or blinkers are working. In 2014 the General Motors recall number 14315 addressed this issue but GM states my VIN number does not included the vehicles affected even though its exactly as they describe in the recall campaign in 2014. They want me to pay for the diagnostic and repair despite it being a safety issue and a recall they addressed in the past.

This complaint is in regard to NHTSA campaign 16V209000 in regard to a seatbelt recall on 2014/15 GMC Sierra. GM has proposed 2 solutions: One for new unsold vehicles which leaves a seamless repair and the other for used vehicles that leaves the seat visibly damaged. This visible damage has led to owners not having their vehicles serviced and opting out of this recall. You can find examples and evidence of these owners here: www.GM-trucks.com/forums/topic/189628-seat-belt-recall/ www.GM-trucks.com/forums/topic/190371-happy-with-your-seatbelt-recall-fix/ the only reason that GM proposed to solutions is to save a few bucks at the expense of their customers. This is now leading to a potentially dangerous scenarios for GMC owners and others on the highway. This needs to be investigated and GM needs to answer why they proposed a cheaper less effective solution which leave visible damage to the vehicle for current owners.
