There is no reason that my engine should have needed a valve job with just 90,000. miles on the odometer. The charges I think are excessive and it took them almost 3 weeks to get the job done. The vehicle was at a GMC dealer, Allstar GMC.

This is a major problem with GMC engines. The valve lifter collapses because of the AFM system.

I just bought this truck last August 2019 I transfer in November 2020 I’m stationed in fallon and I bought the truck at 70,000 miles and I drive it to San Fran and on the way back home my truck started shaking and I took it to a auto shop in town and they said 2 of my piston rings are out. I don’t have warranty on this and I don’t have money to just fix it if there’s a way that anyone knows how I can get this fixed please let me know my buddy took a look at it after the shop and said it had to be a sh*tty part from the factory so if anyone can relate or give me advice please let me know.

I have not had much luck with the statement above that is posted on one of General Motors websites. I recently purchased a brand new 2016 GMC Sierra All Terrain X from Faulkner GMC, located at: 4427 East Street Road, Trevose, PA 19053. With taxes and fees this vehicle cost me over $50,000 and I am NOT having an "EXCEPTIONAL OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE." The sales person I worked with was very good during the entire sale process. The service department has done their best to help but the situation is above their level of expertise. The service department has difficulties troubleshooting issues beyond what the computer tells them is wrong with the vehicle. I also spoke to Daniel Perkins on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, who is supposedly a regional manager for General Motors in some capacity. He was extremely rude and did not want to ensure that I received an "EXCEPTIONAL OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE." I felt he was telling me to just deal with it and was also trying to hurry me off the phone.
The quality/precision issues I am having with my vehicle are issues that should not be happening to a $50,000 vehicle. The engine has a rough idle when it is started. After the vehicle warms up the rough idle gets worse. I put the vehicle in drive with my foot on the brake and the rough idle gets worse. It gets even worse after driving it and I come to a stop sign or a red light. The rough idle vibrates the entire vehicle. The rough idle is at its worse when I stop after having driven on the highway for long periods of time. There is a shake or shudder during light throttle acceleration. There is also excessive engine RPM fluctuation. The Check Engine light is not coming on. When connected to a scanner I am getting a misfire cylinder 3, misfire in cylinder 1 and an oxygen sensor monitor bank 2.
I purchased this new vehicle because my previous vehicle was totaled in an automobile accident when someone t-boned me in my 2007 GMC Yukon XL 5.3L V8. My Yukon had approximately 200,000 miles and did not have a rough idle or vibrate like my brand new 2016 Sierra does. I know the technology is totally different than my 2007 but it should at least idle as good as if not better than my 2007 Yukon that had 200,000 miles, but it does not. There is also a hesitation during acceleration that is getting worse with every additional mile I put on the vehicle. The hesitation is so bad at times I worry the engine is going to stall out on me. It feels/sounds like the cylinders are loading up with too much fuel and are not firing correctly. At times, it feels like a miss. My fuel mileage is also decreasing. In the very beginning I was averaging around 19 miles per gallon and now I am averaging around 17 miles per gallon. I have tried different octane levels of mostly Sunoco and BP fuels with no noticeable change in fuel mileage or engine performance except for the above-mentioned conditions getting worse. I am worried this rich mixture will cause premature failure of the catalytic converter and O2 sensor. I am also concerned the excess carbon could build up around the valves causing additional problems down the road after the warranty expires.

Had rough idle when sitting at traffic light in gear. I thought it was spark plugs or coil. Dealership stated there was a bulletin on broken engine mounts, sure enough the motor mounts were broken.
Dealer replaced motor mounts and this fixed the rough idle concern.
