Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,000 miles

Driving in upstate NY I lost my brakes. Coming to a stop, my pedal went hard and I almost hit the car in front of me. I called my dealer and they told me it was my brake assist pump, and to bring it in. GMC knew about this and issued a TSB, not a recall. They sent me a letter last month, extending the warranty in the pump to 150,000 miles, but say there's no need to bring it in for repair. Who does that unless they know it's faulty? SO let's just wait until it goes bad and someone gets killed before replacing something they knew was faulty. I am so done with GMC and their problems.

Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

I stopped at a red light and pressed down on the brakes and kept on rolling forward. I almost hit the vehicle in front of me. I got a call about 3 days later from the dealer about a recall on the brakes. I thought it would fix the problem. They said it was a software update and would take 30 min. The next day I was going to work and was in the parking garage and it did it again even after the update. I was going slow and applied the brakes and kept rolling forward. I have a family of 4 and this is not acceptable. I have brought GM my whole life and am thinking of going elsewhere. The truck has 58,000 miles.
