Sierra 1500

  • 2,300 miles
The transmission shifts hard from reverse to drive. Also from 1st to 2nd when accelerating and from 2nd to 1st when decelerating. The jerk from the hard shift feels like the vehicle has just been rear ended by another vehicle and his led me hitting objects with the vehicle numerous times. This has been going on since I purchased the truck in August of 2019 and has continued. I've taken the vehicle to the dealer who has explicitly stated that the protocol is to notate the issue only. No investigation beyond that has or will be performed.

Upon acceleration my "service ESC" indicator lights came on and my brakes became nearly unusable and loose steering. I pulled into a gas station and after 5 minutes the error cleared. This happened the previous week and the dealer said they could not find any codes in the computer.

You can constantly feel a bump, clunk & transmission slip when going from reverse to drive. This is dangerous as I was pulling a small boat and it came off the hitch hitting the trucks tailgate and causing damage to it. This will happen seconds after drive is already engaged. After 3rd time I took to dealer the mechanic gave me a GMC memo that states that this is normal for this model truck to do this. Mechanic stated GM has known about this issue for years. Are you kidding me ? sounds like poor engineering. I was never told this would happen pre purchase or I would of never bought the truck. Have had constant problems with this truck since I bought it. Have had the seat belt pillar cover fall off 3 times dealer says they will change seatbelt, waiting over 2 months and no parts or repair. I have a warning to service brake pad sensor monitor. Took to dealer and they say they can't get parts for it yet because GM is on strike and have been waiting for parts and repair for over 2 months. Have had a steering wheel column warning also. Dealer blames everything on software issue. My diagnostic report each month states truck is in perfect order even though I have had a warning light for over 2 months !!!!! now there is a recall for the seatbelt pretensioner that it might cause a fire ! what a piece of junk this truck is I tried to support the american economy by buying an american truck and look what I get ! I should of bought a Toyota Tundra !!!!!!!

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. While attempting to accelerate at highway speeds above 50 mph, the speed would not immediately increase and the vehicle drastically hesitated to accelerate. The failure occurred in sixth, seventh, and eighth gears. The vehicle was taken to ancira GMC (30500 I-10 w, boerne, tx) where the failure was duplicated. The contact was informed that the vehicle was operating normally. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,800.

  • 5,500 miles
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving 10 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise and the vehicle began to hesitate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle downshifted from third to first gear independently. The vehicle was taken to geoff penske Buick GMC (located at 100 S museum rd, shillington, pa 19607, (610) 370-6673) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 5,500. The consumer stated when at a traffic light car, it clunks and dropping into first gear when coming to a stop. When stopping for traffic the transmission seems to 'clunk' as if it is in a higher gear and then drops into first after the vehicle comes to a stop. Feeling like the gears are moving when the vehicle is not. When leaving a stop it sometimes hesitate and the engine will rev like it is in neutral then quickly lunge forward at times so hard it feels like it has been hit from behind.

Recently purchased a 2019 GMC Sierra and it shifts hard at lower speeds or when moving from a stopped position and then accelerating, or when decelerating. While parking the car at one point the shift was so hard that it felt like a hit, and then the kids confusedly asking "what was that?". GM is giving us the runaround and unwilling to fix what I have now found out, has been a known problem. They based everything out of what the modules report when the car is hooked up to the computer. Basically, if the modules are ok then the car is reportedly ok. Not the case.
